Online education technique that changed my life forever and enabled me to achieve my full potential. Can be used to achieve goals, enhance a career or enhance any life experience. It is an important and transformative learning tool that does not involve sitting in a classroom for a thousand hours learning through lectures.
It does not involve paying for schooling that we thought we had paid for years ago. This online education has evolved beyond the traditional educational experience. It does not involve sitting behind a desk for weeks on end learning and understanding. This online education is experiential, interactive, engaging and in tune with the learner.
It lets the learner know they are part of the instructor’s life. A mentor, friend, parent and teacher. The instructor is in the classroom with the learner, is a part of the classroom and on the internet. The instructor is part of the life of the learner. Online education is integrated into the lives of the instructor and the learner. This is a different experience for the learner and a different learning tool for the instructor. For the instructor, it means a part of the learning experience the learner has that they want to enhance and evolve.
It has become apparent that online education has made it impossible to learn in a vacuum. Online education is a part of the life of the instructor.
Online education is the partner of the learner and the instructor. It connects the learning atmosphere between the instructor and the student. It enhances and extends what was learned and taught in the classroom. It also enables the instructor to continue to teach and learn even when they are not physically present. This creates a new learning experience and builds a new resource that may be available for the instructor to use at any time. This establishes a relationship for the instructor to draw upon that will be readily available whenever he needs it.
Online education can be incorporated into the lifecycle of the teacher. It can be learned by the entire class and taught by everyone. It is an integral part of the classroom experience. It is an indispensable part of the life of the instructor. It is a tool they can use anytime they need it.
Online education is only a tool. How we use the tool is what makes it effective or not. It cannot be effective alone on its own as a tool. This becomes clear when you consider that the entire class has to take responsibility for learning and being taught by the instructor. If the entire class does not understand the material taught, there will be a breakdown in the learning process and a failure to learn.
If someone does not know something taught at the beginning of the year, they will not be able to grasp it next year. If everyone follows the course, the entire class learns what is expected of them and stays updated with the latest research findings on the subject. No one is learning in isolation. Everyone shares responsibility for learning the information.
The students cannot learn the material alone. They need to understand it with the instructor in front of the class. If everyone leaves the class at the same time, the instructor has the opportunity to explain the information further with reference to the class. As the instructor explains more, the rest of the class can participate in following up the learning with the instructor to clarify any discrepancies between the learning and the expectations of the class. Without the other people in the class to keep everyone updated and on task, there will be no learning and no progress.
The class cannot learn by themselves. They need the instructor to lead them along the way. The result of everyone following the teacher is progress, learning and a cohesive group doing something collectively. You cannot learn alone. You need someone to show you the way.
It’s a very powerful idea that needs a whole blog of its own.
